Anwar Ouassini, PhD

Dr. Anwar Ouassini joined Delaware State University as an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice in Fall 2016. Dr. Ouassini earned his doctorate in Sociology from the University of New Mexico in 2013. His research interests include social movements, political sociology, and comparative criminal justice systems. He is currently working on projects that explore the intersection of race and religious identities in the Arab World, the relationship between civil society, social movements, and democratic development in West Africa, and Criminal Justice Reform in the Maghreb. Dr. Ouassini teaches courses in Sociological Theory, Complex Organizations, Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice, and Sociology of Culture.
